Joe Caverlee

Joe started out playing guitar and piano as a small child with his family in Dayton Ohio but the two instruments quickly took a back seat when he discovered a violin in his grandma’s attic. Beginning classical lessons at age 10, he soon learned it was the right choice. By age 13 he was playing with a bluegrass band that toured weekends around the Ohio,Kentucky and Indiana area. Even though he continued his classical training through high school and college, the live music scene was where Joe wanted to be. After playing fiddle in a few bluegrass and blues bands and bass in a local rock band he decided to move to Nashville. Joe found steady work playing fiddle and acoustic with Ronna Reeves on the road and shortly after was hired on by Ken Mellons to play fiddle and mandolin. In the late 90’s he teamed up with the Ohio based group Yankee Grey and signed a record deal with Sony/Monument. After brief success and an ACM vocal group of the year nomination they disbanded. He then started playing fiddle and mandolin with country great Tracy Lawrence where he is still today and is currently Tracy’s band leader. Joe has played and sang on a lot of songs you’ve heard on the radio with artists such as Tracy Lawrence, Yankee Grey, David Ball, Billy Ray Cyrus, Daryl Singletary, Love and Theft, The Bellamy Brothers, Michael Peterson and The Christmas Grass records just to name a few. He has also produced several custom projects on the side and being a bow hunter and lover of the outdoors, is currently writing theme songs for commercials and programs on the Pursuit channel and has harvested some trophy animals on their respective T.V. Shows.A fan of music across the board, his future plans include a mostly instrumental solo album that fuses a lot of genres. Joe is on the board of directors at a newly formed Christian youth center in his area where his first order of business was to build an archery range. It passed unanimously! He has been teaching a youth archery class at his church for the last 4 years. Joe has been shooting BowTech bows for many years. With cutting edge technology, attention to detail and the awesome staff Joe is very proud to be part of the BowTech family and their prestigious pro staff.
